Sailing / trekking

We are wanting to go to Croatia but unsure whether to do a weeks sailing around the coast line or just pick some really good areas to go to. I would be happy even if we went to a really nice beach and there were things to do.

There is only 2 of us and not worried if the sailing trip is a group thing. does anyone have an ideas??

I would suggest to take a charter boat and spend a week (or two) sailing among mid-Adriatic islands. I used to do it every year (Sept. or Oct. is the best because of the weather and the prices) with a bunch of friends. We have several favorite routes, but it depends where is your departure port. Trogir is a nice port, since you can go south or north and find lovely islands, scenic villages and hidden spots every dozen miles or so. If you find more like-minded people, you can share the costs of a boat. We usually pick a 13-meter sailing yacht and at that time of the year it would cost around 2000,00 € per week. A skipper, if you like, would cost you around 100,00 € per day. If you are interested, I can recommend some nice routes.

Why not combine it? If you go to Hvar, there are agencies that offer day sailing trips and you can go hiking in the hills. For trekking, Velebit or biokovo mountains are perfect.
