Best way to get to Rovinj from Northern Italy

Hi! We%26#39;re two adults and two teenagers, planning to fly from the UK to Venice or Trieste (on a low-cost airline!), then on to Rovinj. What%26#39;s the best option, please - bus, train or ferry? Can tickets be booked in advance?

Any advice appreciated, thank you.

Get to Venice and then take the ferry to Rovinj. Agency is venezia lines and they have a web site

Hi,

depends when your going and where from in the UK.

In season best route would be if your Flying to Venice, Bus right outside Terminal which waits for every Ryanair flight, takes you to Venice Piazzale Roma bus terminal, Get on the water taxi here to San Basilio, 5 Minute walk when you get off to Hydrofoil Pier for Rovinj, think it only goes once a day peak season, try here for timetable http://www.venezialines.com/eng/index.asp.

Out of season

Same bus outside Treviso Airport arrivals, Go to Mestre Train station and get the train to Trieste (get the fast one, run every hour or two), check here for timetable http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html.

From trieste train station just turn right and walk 50 yds to bus terminal, and get the bus to Rovinj, only runs once a day and not Sundays, so you have to sync your journey well, i have done this journey in and out of season so if you need any more info let me know, Rovinj is well worth the effort of getting there.

I have a bus timetable somewhere for the Trieste to Rovinj Route, will dig it out.

I know Bus from Rovinj to Trieste is 5:40am and 7:40 am (not sundays) and takes 2hrs 20 mins approx. costs £8

sorry might be 2 buses per day From Trieste to Rovinj, the bus will also charge £1 per item of luggage, so why not get a costing for a taxi from trieste all the way to Rovinj, i did 2 weeks ago for £40....journey time 90 mins.
