Walking In Croatia

I am thinking of planing a walking trip in Croatia, not hiking and camping with lots of gear, traveling very light, walking maybe 10-15kms a day town to town, staying in local places.

Just 10 days maybe walking down the coast from Split to Dubrovnik any suggestions would be great

Split - Hvar - korcula - pleljesac - Dubrovnik

combinate bus and ferry be great for you..

If your target distance is 100 to 150 km (10 days x 10-15km per day), you might miss your flight by 3 to 6 days. I would suggest you either take 5 more days off of work or walk at least 21km per day (the distance from Split to Dubrovnik is about 210km, not counting the distances to the airports). I am assuming you want to walk the road which runs directly next to the sea, so if I was to have the strange urge for a %26quot;walking tour%26quot; of southern dalmatia in the oppressive summer heat, I would hop on a bus from Split to Omis (not much to see while walking and shave about 20km) and go on by foot to Gradac (after which the road goes inland and you arent next to the water), then hop on a bus south, get off around Banici or Gurgerici (after the base of the Peljesac peninsula- just shaved about 70km) where you can follow the road with the sea by your side (most of the time, anyways) down to Dubrovnik. It might be smart to check www.viamichelin.com for exact distances. Just try to avoid the crazy Czech and Polish drivers...

What time of year? (very important)

My suggestion would be to walk on islands instead of down the coast. Ferry to Hvar, walk on Hvar, ferry to Korcula, walk on Korcula. Then ferry to Dubrovnik.
