From Split to Montenegro

Dear Members,

Would love to know if it will be easier to travel to Montenegro from Split, rather than Dubrovnik.

We will stay in Hvar for two nights, and will have to return to Split cos there is no car ferry from Hvar to Dubrovnik on the day we leave. So we might as well travel to Montenegro and spend two nites (Kotor and some other spots) before heading off toe Dubrovnik.

Does anyone know how far is Split from Montenegro?

The trip from Split to Montenegro would be four hours longer than the trip from Dubrovnik. Much easier to take the trip from Dubrovnik!

Have read a lot of your posts and have taken a lot of your advice while planning my 21-day trip!

Am now into finding a one-week accomodation in Dubrovnik.....

Is it wise to base myself in Dubrovnik for side trips to Kotor, Montenegro, Miljet Island...etc for day trips?

We%26#39;ll be driving from Zagreb all the way to Dubrovnik, stopping in between for various cities and spots..... would love to abandon the car at Dubrovnik. Is it easy to do side trips from Dubrovnik?
