Ocean Village - 31st May 2008 for one day only

Arrive Ocean Village 31st May at 8 am leave 1800. Does anyone know where the ship docks and how far it is from town. Are taxis readily available and are there any good tours to take away from the main hordes. We are travelling with an 80 year so walking is limited and walking the walls would be out unless we can park her for a coffee and a cake do a bit of the walk where she could keep her eye on us. Any help - Thanks

You%26#39;ll have to ask the cruise line where the ship docks. It could be quite close to old town (shuttled by small boats) or it could be at the main port--a short bus ride or cab ride from old town.

You will be part of the horde I%26#39;m afraid! Hopefully there will not be many more than your ship arriving that day. The best way to avoid the crowds in old town is to get off the main streets--that%26#39;s my favorite part anyway.

It could be quite sunny in May, so you may want to walk the walls first thing. Hopefully your elderly companion will not mind sitting in a cafe while you walk the walls. She could see you while you are on part of the wall, but it would be a shame to not walk the whole way around! Take turns walking it solo if someone must stay with her the entire time.

Perhaps she would like sitting in one of the cloisters--very peaceful nice places to sit a while.
