Europe by air

I spent about 3 hours on the internet today trying to get our flights from AMS to DBV and ZAG to AMS. I finally got it for $99 each segment but it says we pay the taxes when we check in. Does anyone have an approximate idea of how much the taxes are? Thanks.

Janie,

I did Europe by air as well for my upcoming trip to Croatia in June. I was a little concerned, but found an article in the NY Times which stated that they were legit, etc. I forget what my taxes, etc were on top of the $99 (I am flying through London), but as I recall they were in the $50 range leaving London and about half that much leaving Dubrovnik. But what I do recall is that Europe by Air was very helpful when I called to check. They were able to give me the costs that I would have incurred on the day I called, but as taxes and fees can go up, etc, they werent able to tell me exactly what I will be paying. But I suggest giving them a call and they should be able to help you out.

I called Europe by air and you were right. They are so nice and told me what my taxes would be and that they would be fed exing my tickets tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

On our honeymoon last summer we used Europe by Air for a few flights. Paris to Dubrovnik, Split to Rome, and Venice to Athens. All times it was much cheaper booking through them then the actual airline that we flied on, or any other discount provider for that day. We had a pretty specific itinerary for days and places, so I searched tons of different low cost providers.

I was also really worried about how the flights would work on Europe by Air, but everything went smoothly!

One thing to note, you have to go to the ticket counter of the actual airline and pay the taxes BEFORE getting your boarding pass. This is a different line than the boarding/ticketing line. It is the counter you would go to to buy tickets. Maybe in some airports it is the same counter. If I had to do it again I would find out where the ticket counter is in the airport before I went, so I knew, by verifying it with the actual airline ahead of time. In Venice we had our luggage lost, so had to wait in a huge line to get our luggage, then had to scramble to find the ticket counter to pay our tax, then had to get into a HUGE check in line. Although that airport is about the worst of any I%26#39;ve ever flown into. Taxes varied depending on the country and airline, but they were never really that much. Bottom line is though make sure you find out where the ticket counter is. You don%26#39;t want to end up waiting in the check in line, get to the front and have them tell you you have to go to a different counter/line to pay your taxes and then come back....
