Trogir is fantastic ! A happy and pleasant environment which comes highly recommended.
One issue to watch out for though. We had to travel through Trogir during the peak summer season to our hired villa several miles outside of the town. Frequently while travelling to Trogir or through the town to Split or the petrol station we found the traffic jams quite awful. Having experienced this earlier during the stay - we gave ourselves plenty of spare time for the return trip to the airport on the Saturday morning. Glad we did ! It took an hour to get in and another 25 minutes to get out on the main highway into Split ! This is not helped by locals driving passed the traffic on the wrong side of the road !
We noticed people getting out of their cars with luggage and running towards the town centre (probably looking for taxis/transport).
We were there July/August - so please bare this in mind and have a lovely holiday.
Recommendations : Enjoy the views from the castle ! And I was told the church bell tower was worth the climb. Ice creams in the church square were fab !
Was a trip to Split worth the effort ? We fortunately found the historic part by accident ! Having seen - wouldn%26#39;t go back though.

thanks for the info on the traffic.
we will be in this area next month April and have to catch the ferry in Split at 9 am on the 14 th April.
Many people say stay in Trogir but having never been there before..was worried about the trafic..getting into Split to catch the ferry.
we are still looking for a place to stay...or do you think we can just arrive and take a chance and find something closer to Split.
