croatia in September

Hi,

Staying at the Tonkovic apartments in Mlini in September. How much approx. would a taxi cost from the airport?

It appears that this is on a hill. Is it far from the beach? is it off the beaten path? What is the weather like at that time of the year? Would hiring a car be recommended? - intend to visit Dubrovnick and maybe take in a day trip visiting some of the islands. What is the public transport like - from Mlini? Is it reliable? What time does the last bus leave Dubrovinck for Mlini? Do the ferries operate from Mlini on a regular basis? I have read somewhere that sea urchins might be a problem - can anybody say it is?

A lot of questions, but I am excited about the prospect of visiting Croatia for the first time. I would welcome any comments.

Regards

BD

A taxi will cost approx 120 kuna (16 Euro). Judging from the photos I would guess that it will take approx 10 minutes to walk to the beach area and double that coming back up the hill!! Mlini is a beautiful place. You will love it. Buses to Dubrovnik pass approx every half hour. I think the last bus leaves Dubrovnik at around midnight but you should be able to get a taxi for around 150 kn. The ferries call a few times a day also.

I would suggest hiring a car as there are so many delightful places and restaurants nearby to visit.

Normally the weather is perfect in September.

Thanks for your information - the option of the late public transport is always useful especially if the wine is flowing freely at meal times! By the sounds of it, the prices seem to be very reasonable - compared to Irish prices!!

Thanks again.
