Nice place to stay in Split end of May

Juat a quick question.. Need a nice centraly based place to stay for a few nights in Split. Not to fussy on the luxuries, just easy to get to, clean and welcoming with nice breakfast..

Ideally local to some nice restuarants but fine with walking if need be..

Any suggestions, as i am sure this question has been posted so many times before anyhow.

Also we will be getting a train or bus onto Dubrovik so hopefully somewhere not miles from public transport links.

The Hotel Peristil is the perfect place, a bit spendy, but in an ideal location within Diocletian%26#39;s Palace.

I agree with Barry, Peristil is unique hotel. The station is not far away, Split is not so large. Let´s say it would take 10 minutes by foot from Peristil to bus station. (There are not trains between Split and Dubrovnik).
