itinerary for seeing Croatias geography

Hi, I really want to take a group of geography students to croatia to see its natural beauty. Aside from the obvious plitvice lakes where else would you recommend for a 5 day visit?

thanks

See our national and nature parks here.

Most interesting ones IMO are:

Kornati (archipelago, central Adriatic)

Paklenica (canyons and cliffs; north of Zadar)

Krka near Sibenik ((smaller scale Plitvice)

Lonjsko polje (marshes, south of zagreb)

Kopacki rit (very east, marshes, ponds along the Danube)

Velebit, Risnjak, Papuk, Biokovo if you%26#39;d like to see some mountains/hills.

Here is a geographical gem that not even many of the locals know about if you are around Split. If youre going down the Jadranski Magistral (Croatian Coast Road) from Split, when you get into Omis, immediately before crossing the bridge, make a left off the Magistral and go Zakucac-Naklice-Tugare. In Tugare, make a left at the road which leads to the chuch and town cemetary (I think it%26#39;s opposite near or around the post office or market, but you have to really look for it). Ask someone if you cant find it. After you pass the church, take the road that heads up the hill. At the top before the radar/radio relay station, you will see one of the most beautiful views of the islands that always takes the breath of those I take up there. Just dont drive up with a wide or big car!

Brijuni Island National Park - apart from its beauty see the dinasaur footprints and the oldest European olive tree.

Definitely not to miss the island of Rab - probably most interesting (geologically) place in Croatia!
