Split Hvar and Vis

I am planning on spending a few days in Split followed by a few on each of Hvar and Vis.

Is it possible to travel from Hvar to Vis without returning to Split

There is a scheduled catarmarin from Hvar to Vis on a Tuesday afternoon (see www.jadrolinija.hr) and this may become more frequent during the summer, but you%26#39;ll have to wait for Jadrolinija to publish their summer timetable to find out. If that doesn%26#39;t work for you, depending on the time of year you are going, there will be excursions from Hvar to Vis so you might be able to grab a one way ride with one of them. I think it will be a bit more expensive than Hvar-Split-Vis but it might be quicker. Also don%26#39;t forget that there is (again depending on when you are going) a regular early morning fast boat (run by Krilo) from Hvar to Split (see www.korcula.net)and then you can catch the 11.00 Jadrolinija ferry from Split to Vis. Finally there will be private taxi boats but these can be pricey!

If you decide to go to Vis, choose Komiza and not the town of Vis...
