Hi All,
We are thinking of holidaying in Korcula in September and want to travel independently. How do you get from either Split or Dubrovnik airports to the island and what is the cost?
We are lookng for a real relaxing time - beach, local food and wine etc - will be be disappointed?
By the way what are the beaches like? Which are the best ones?

Its better to fly into Dubrovnik and then take a bus to Orebic and a ferry to Korcula. The best beach that we found in the Korcula area was at Lumbarda, just a few km away from Korcula Town. Lumbarda has a nice sandy beach and very shallow water.

It depends on the arrival time of your flight, you may have to spend the night or arrival and the night before you depart in Dubrovnik area to make suitable connections by bus or ferry. The easiest way is to hire a car for collection at the airport or to spend out and arrange a transfer. You need to weigh up the pros and cons of each and make your own decision as to additional costs and convenience.
