Makarska and Brac

HI people!

Im going on holidays at the end of August to Croatia. we will be spending 1 week in hotel meteor in makarska before going to hotel elephusa in Brac (Bol) for 1 week.

Does anyone one have any advice for things to do, places to go or activities to do in either of these places? any help would be great!

well, one is for sure: bol is to much crowded. visit www.peskafondo.net. - yours true way to enjoy the holiday in croatia.

I think most of my time in Bol would be spent siting on Zlatni Rat beach soaking up the sun and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic. Or you could take a class on windsurfing. That sure looked like a lot of fun!

I in Makarska, go rafting or hiking to Biokovo. On Brac, numerous historic sites on the island. Great place for hiking but beware, August can be very hot! Museum at Skrip, churches and monastery Blaca, Dragon%26#39;s cave...

to barrymanilow: i don%26#39;t know whats so %26quot;chrystal%26quot; in 1km2 with over 3000-4000 (sometimes even more!) people in it? :-) the beach is really unique but (i%26#39;m from brac) it%26#39;s to popular, to crowded (peskafondo.net/images/…03_zlatni_rat.jpg)

it would be better to find your own (and belive me, there are many of them) lonely inlet/cove and then try to enjoy :-))

I am currently looking at booking a week in mid June to either Makarska or Bol, I haven%26#39;t decided yet. Can someone tell me if it would be relatively quiet still then? Toni83 says Bol is too busy, but would this be refering to July and August or is June going to be very busy too?

since i%26#39;m from sumartin easternmost tip of brac) i can tell you that the best time to visit makarska if you want relatively quiet place/accommodation/nights are april and may... june is season so it%26#39;s not that much crowded like august but its crowded if you want everything is peaceful. this reffers also for bol on brac. why don%26#39;t you try some other places that aren%26#39;t so popular but very - %26quot;uncrowded%26quot; in the season? and after that bol is just 25minutes of driveing from that part of brac if you like super night life. also there is direct car-ferry connection from sumartin to makarska...
