Can I still go to the beach in September?

I have heard that it is the best time to go because it is still very warm, plus the biggest crowds have gone. Sounds like a perfect time to visit for me!!!

We stayed in Makarska (between Split and Dubrovnik) last September for a fortnight. We found it mainly to be hot during the day although when the winds get going (mainly in the evening) they can be cold so my advise would be yes go then and yes you can sunbathe however whilst people do go in the sea/pools we didn%26#39;t find them to be particularly warm, and do take some warmer garments for the evening.
