My husband and I are going to Croatia for 2.5 weeks in August. We have flights in and out of Dubrovnik. We are looking for a relaxing vacation but most definitely want to see the highlights.
I have spent quite a bit of time with our Lonely Planet and my head is spinning with all of the possibilities. I would be so appreciative if anyone could give us some tips/suggestions/recommendations about what we should do and where we should go.
As I said, we%26#39;re there for 2.5 weeks and have a budget of about $4,000. Any advice would be fantastic!!

that is a rather small budget for a stay of 2.5 weeks in Croatia but it is doable. My advice is to first solve the accommodation issue - get a private apartment somewhere near the Old Town Dubrovnik and then use local agencies for day trips:
Lokrum, Korcula, Mljet island, Mostar, Montenegro, Neretva, Elafiti islands, sea kayak under the walls of Dubrovnik...
