Best Studio Apartment

My wife and I will be in Dubrovnik next September . We are looking for reccomendations for a studio apartemnt to rent. We are a little undecided on whether to stay in Old Town or outside of the walls, so would ask anyone on their best reccomendation for both. We prefer a view of the sea etc.

Thanks

I stayed here for 4 nights last week...

I chose it for the view and the location. I did not want too many stairs to climb - and believe me they are steep! - and I did not want to be too far from the Old Town. This apartment is about 20-30 metres, around 2-3 minutes climb, above the Excelsior Hotel, generally considered to be the best in Dubrovnik. Above all, it has THAT VIEW which was wonderful. I paid 50 euros a night.

Maja owns it, her English is very good, and she was a very nice lady. She owns another larger apartment above this one, (Lukre 1)which you can see on the website I have given the link for. planejane has posted here about this apartment, so you could find that report if you search under her name.

Although it states there isn%26#39;t parking, Maja did let me park outside the building. The only downside is that once you get to the building there are several flights of stairs to climb to get to the apartment, the stairwell is a bit dark and I learnt to click every light button on my way up so as not to get caught in the dark! But I always felt quite safe there, it is not creepy. And I thought the view was worth it.

Hello,

We were in Dubrovnik this year and stayed at the Villa Adriatica (see link below). It is located just outside the old city walls. I can’t say enough about the location as it was just perfect. If you do stay there try and get a room upstairs with direct access to the veranda (I believe that we had room #2). The rooms are adequate and certainly not luxury, but there is a certain charm about the house itself. Good luck…

I have always thought that the ideal locations would be at Villa Adriatica or at Dubrovnik Bed and Breakfast. They are both right off of Ploce Gate and it would be great to wake up every morning to the sight of Dubrovniks Walls.

There is one just recently opened apart hotel, Berkeley Hotel.

It is privatly owned with one family who returned to croatia after 25 living in Sidney australia.

Rooms are modernly furnished, and staff is excelent.

You can check on their web site www.berkeleyhotel.hr . If you mail them directly you can get better price

Not many places in the Old Town have a sea view and those that have are pretty high what means a lot of steps to climb. It is similar situation with accommodation in Ploce area. What makes Dubrovnik unique is its old walled core and therefore I suggest looking for accommodation there. September is a nice time to visit and hopefully you will see the best of this beautiful town.

Check www.ownersdirect.co.uk/croatia/CR201.htm and see whether one of those would suit you.

These apartments were recommended to me earlier this year. We are staying in Apartment Silva in June. But Apartments Tina are inside the walls if you are looking for that. I havent stayed there yet, but the booking process has been simple, and the pictures and location look fantastic.

I really like the location of Apartment Silva. I looked at the pictures and this location would be ideal. Right by the beach, near the Old Town and also near a grocery store. Perfect location in my estimation.

Barrymanilow,

I hope you are right about Apartment Silva. We thought so too. I%26#39;ll let you know in June!
