How long do I need in Dubrovnik?

We are looking to travel to Dubrovnik over Easter this year and are wondering how much time we really need there. Am sure it will be too cold to swim - so what else is there to do (eg hiking?) in and around Dubrovnik for 5 days?

Thanks

Definitely no swimming.

To do - sailing and sightseeing.

I think three to four days would be great, but I guess I don%26#39;t know how lively it is around Easter time. You could always take a day trip to Mostar or something like that?

take a day trip to Montenegro. Go hiking on Pelješac - Kuna area is very nice. I believe there are bike tours with agency called Huck Finn and they also offer sea kayak.

3 days for Dubrovnik itself is plenty! I think you could consider day trips to Korcula, Mostar, Kotor, the Peljesac Peninsula, etc...

You will find thing to do in the time period. If the weather is warm, there is a sea kayaking place between the walls of the Old Town and Lovrinac!

Great - thanks for the tips!

Now I just need to know if I should stay in Dubrovnik old town for the entire period and do these day trips, or look to stay somewhere along the coast?

I think it is a place that is a good hub for making day trips. Much of the ferries leave from it and you can also drive north and east into Bosnia if you choose to go to Mostar...and south if you want to go to Montenegro.

Are you going to have your own car for transportation? If so, being inside the Old Town may not be best for parking, but over Easter, I think you would probably find parking relatively close.

you take 2 days for dubrovnik .. and then you chose what you want to se arount or change destinatio...

I suggest Split after dubrovnik
