Makarska Accomodation

Hi there

We are looking at travelling to Croatia in June 2008 with our family (2 kids aged 3 and 4.5 years) along with our parents.

I was thinking of basing ourselved in Makarska and travelling from there for day and overnight trips.

Can anyone recommend some nice accomodation close to the beach which have 2 bedroom apartments?

I would recommend you hotel Park in Makarska. It is great 4 stars hotel on the beach. It is perfect for family with kids and prices are moderate. They have great service and wellness programms. You can take 2 bedroom apartment - first inteligent accommodation in Croatia. Hope you will enjoy as I did.

Grant - We are thinking of visiting the Park hotel next year. As there is very little information about the hotel perhaps you could write a review which would be of benefit to lots of travellers. Thanks.

Thanks Grant, I am unable to find your review on the hotel section but hopefully it will appear shortly. We have just booked a weeks stay in September. I have looked at the website and it looks very nice. If you have any additional information about the hotel itself including the rooms, food, pool, location or any tips in general that would be very useful. Thanks.

I am trying to make a reservation at Hotel Park, but they seem to want a 30% prepayment for the full stay without any specific terms for cancellation. Is this standard practice for the region?

For information about the cancellation policy suggest you sent the hotel an e-mail info@parkhotel.hr Did not book with the hotel direct as we used a UK tour operator. Contacted another hotel in the same area and they wanted a 10% deposit. It appears the amount of the deposit varies and depends on the hotels policy. Hope this helps.
