stayed at malinska on krk last year but no flights to rijeka this year.would love to find similar close to split any suggestions please? thanks jill

look at www.rijeka-airport.hr , I think there are flights to London all summer. But you can visit Istra (airport Pula- Medulin,Porec, Rovinj, Umag) it is very very beautiful like all our cost cities .
Airport is also in Zadar (thay have flight to London) there are Pakostan , Sukosan, Biograd na moru. Good luck .

Split area is also great! Islands like Brac and Solta are perfect for you.

We used the Easyjet flight from Bristol to Rijeka last year too--didn%26#39;t last long did it!
So we are seizing the opportinity to take their new route to Split. I think Hvar is the nearest island among a range of choices there and it will be interesting to see another part of the lovely country of Croatia
