Hi,

My girlfriend and I are visiting Dubrovnik in early July and want to know of any cheap Apartments/Hotels to stay that are quite central to Old Town.

Thanks in Advance

Usually July, Dubrovnik, Old Town and Cheap aren%26#39;t used in the same sentence. Things are pretty expensive in that month. What does cheap mean?

We spent a fortnight in Croatia last September and if you are on a small budget would strongly recommend you stay elsewhere and take a day trip to Dubrovnik, indeed I%26#39;d probably advise it even if your budget isn%26#39;t small. Dubrovnik is a very pretty place and worth visiting however when we visited on a day trip we found prices in shops and for food and drink to be a lot more than elsewhere in Croatia and it was extremely busy in the Old Town. Other places in Croatia are pretty but cheaper and if you%26#39;re looking for romance I would say to consider staying in a quieter location.

you can stil try the youth hostel, not very romantic...

They do have ONE double room !

I guess it has to be reserved very much in advance.

Hi,

Had a Dalmatian trip in the autumn. The thing about Dubrovnik is that it%26#39;s a really beautiful place that you%26#39;ve got to see, but doesn%26#39;t take very much time to feel you%26#39;ve seen it all. We stayed down the coast at Cavtat, whilst our place was not that cheap, there should be plenty of budget options and you can get into Dubrovnik cheaply and quickly by bus, or for a bit more money take a boat. It%26#39;s also really handy for the airport and has got a good choice of places to eat %26amp; drink. I don%26#39;t think we missed out by seeing Dubrovnik this way. Also in high season you may be glad to get away from the crowds. If you get the time and haven%26#39;t been, you should get up to Split; it%26#39;s not as picturesque as Dubrovnik, but it%26#39;s still got loads of history and character, but also the buzz of a proper city - cheap and easy to get around too.

I recommend Dubrovnik Dream - less than 2 blocks from the old town and located off the street so it is quiet. We stayed in %26quot;Ragusa%26quot; apartment (with a wee loft upstairs) for 50 euros. That was in October so prices may be a bit higher but even if it was 75 euros it would be worth it! :)

And absolutely no stairs!!!
