Hi,
I%26#39;m thinking about coming to Croatia for 10 days in late March. From the 18th or so to the 27th. Flights to Venice are significantly cheaper, and I%26#39;ve heard renting a car and driving down the coast is mandatory. Has anyone ever made the drive from Venice? Are there car companies that don%26#39;t charge alot to take the car into Croatia?
Considering the ferry, but it seems like a lot of traveling. Then we still wont have a car in Croatia...
Or would it be worth it for 200 more each to fly to Zagreb and rent a car there?
Also possible itineraries during this time of year? I know, no swimming, but I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;ll still be sunny and beautiful. Thanks!!

you should get to Istria and THEN rent a car to go south. So, get to Venice, take the ferry to the port of choice and then rent a car - preferably with a large company that allows one way (Avis, Budget, Sixt...)

If you will not drop it in Croatia than you may be allowed (with some insurance fee) to take the vehicle to Croatia. But you have to browse a lot to strike a good deal on that.
If that fails, you can still take a Zagreb option and on a way South spend a day at Plitvice Lakes NP.
