We have 9 nights at the end of May and so far think we will go straight to Hvar for 3 or 4 nights ,then to Korcula(Lumbarda) for 3 or 4 ending up back in Trogir for the last 2 as have early flight home and like sound of Trogir much more than Split.
We have decided to leave Dubrovnik for another time as we don%26#39;t want to rush around too much.
Lots of day trip possibilities from Hvar but is it best to stay in Hvar town? Will almost certainly do a day trip to Brac (Bol).
Any comments appreciated.

I say yes, definitely stay in Hvar Town. I like the idea of Korcula and Lumbarda. And the thought of going to Dubrovnik on another trip is great too--- then you will be able to look forward to another trip to Croatia!!!

thanks for your reply it%26#39;s almost booked!

AS for the day trip from Hvar to Bol, the simplest and cheapest way is early catamaran to Bol with return in the afternoon.
You can see the most important of Split if you add 2-3 hours in your itinerary before your ferry, because Diocletian palace is very near to the ferry port.

thanks Jelsa, we are thinking because we arrive on a morning flight there will be time to have a quick peak at Split before the afternoon ferry. We may not even go to Brac this visit as we decided on only 3 nights in Hvar and 4 in Korcula.
In case we do though how long does the early catamaran take to Brac? Does it go right to Bol?

The cat from Hvar to Bol actually leaves from Jelsa, a town some 20 mles away from Hvar Town. It leaves during the week very early (6 am) and returns at 5pm. The early start makes it difficult to get to Jelsa in time on public transport so an alternative will be a day excursion from Hvar Town to Bol. At that time of year they may not be going every day but I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll find one sometime during your stay. Its worth it - have fun.
