work holiday in Croatia

Hey, I%26#39;m planning a work Holiday this summer. I have spent other summers working in Santorini Greece and I want to try something new. I dont know much about Croatia, but is it possible to find a low key job there, in a bar or hostel or something? I also don%26#39;t know which City would be best, and if it%26#39;s possible to find INEXPENSIVE accomodation.

Any advice would be awsome, if anybody out there has this kind of experience.

Thanks,

Aubrey

tough one but tell us what you can do. I know that Croatia has a shortage of cooks, waitresses...and you can apply with Sunsail to work in their sail boat bases

If I were you I would look right away for things in Dubrovnik, Hvar, Korcula or anywhere in the Makarska Riviera. Also not sure what you are looking for in terms of a job though.

Well it would have to be %26quot;under the table,%26quot; work for cash. Probably something in a bar. I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s the same, but in Santorini, Greece they give a lot of jobs out to travelers. Last summer I asked around and found a job within the first ten minutes on the island, and I just stayed in a hostel for the summer. So if anyone out there has done something like this I would like to know which city would be best for this if it%26#39;s even possible.

Hostels a your only choice for inexpensive accommodation since all the apartments are too expensive in the season. So you are limited to search for work in Zadar, Split and/or Dubrovnik. Plenty of opportunities there but not so sure that it will be easy as in Greece. Here, the inspectors are pretty strict and not too many folks will dare.

I can negotiate you a job on Kornati islands, in a restaurant there, but you will be cursing my name after two days. ;)))

Please....tell me more. What is the area like? The work, the pay? And why would I be cursing your name?

you would be spending EVERY DAY in the same environment! Same restaurant, mostly very few younger folks around, lots of work... You would not see any other place but Kornati since the islands are quite far away. Most of the folks start %26quot;breaking down%26quot; after a month or so :)) The pay is from 1000 USD to 1500 USD a month and you have free food and lodging.

What exactly is the work? Waitressing? And is there anything around the restaurant, bars or shops or anything? Or is it completely secluded? Are you guests mostly locals or tourists?

This job interests me, the money is good, especially with the free lodging and food. I%26#39;ve been reading about Kornati, and it seems like there is nothing there, just wilderness. But your restaurant must be in a town of some sort right?

One more thing, which island is it on? Kornati is the name of all the islands right?

Kornat is the island and yes, it is VERY secluded and far away. just yachts, boats and turists...
