Possibly a silly question

I%26#39;ve heard from various people, that saving Dubrovnik for the later part of my trip might be preferable to putting it on the %26quot;front end.%26quot; I thought maybe going south to north, (Dubrovnik-Islands-Split-Ljubjlana) might be more apropo for late May early June. Any opinions on this? Thanks in advance.

I don%26#39;t think thats such a silly question. I have always thought that when leaving Croatia it would be best to leave from Dubrovnik, because thats the thought I would want to leave with. But then again there is nothing wrong with starting there either, which we have done the last two trips we have made. To me, Dubrovnik epitomizes what Croatia is. There are numerous places in Croatia that a person could spend lots of time in, from Istria all the way to Dalmatia, but when I think of Croatia, my first thought is Dubrovnik!

Agree with mr.B. silly it is not.Personally I would go from S to N. End of May in Dubrovnik may equal less crowd still with nice weather. But than again - it is not such a great difference as long as you have a good time all the way - any way you go.

(when I think Croatia I see Strizivojna)

PS

speaking of silly...

My favorite is (as bundled in one ) : “ Hi, we are going to …… , how do we get there, where should we stay, how much is it, and what should we do there, how and why.?“

It is not a silly question! My husband and I always ponder that - depending on the time of the year. In May we start with Dubrovnik and go north. In September/October we start north and end up in Dubrovnik.

Flights from Dubvrovnik and vice versa are incredibly cheap - saves a lot of time.
