Bus From Dubrovnik To Munich

Hi. I live in Australia, and want to travel from Zadar to Split, then down to Dubrovnik, back to Zadar, then on to Munich via Ljubljana and Salzburg in mid May this year.

My problem is the only information I can get about the Bus service( Autotrans I think it is, Or perhaps Eurolines.) is what a great Bus service they have, and I believe they probably do.

But trying to book a seat, is an absolute nightmare.

I have gained not 1 inch in 8 days of trying.

I have sent Emails To Rijeka, Split,Zagreb, and one to a Croatian Organisation here in Australia

and received back just one reply from Split,

telling me how great their Bus service is.

But when I asked for more detail I got no reply.

I have reached desperation point, which must be obvious, as here I am in Australia, talking to people in the USA, about how to book a seat on a bus in Croatia. tell me that makes sense.

But the truth is I don%26#39;t know what else to do,

go to Italy instead perhaps, the trouble with that is I have all my accommodation booked along the Dalmatian Coast.

All I ask for is a Bus ticket, can anyone tell how to get it before leaving home.? Regards. Deb.

I think that booking is not as urgent as you may think. For example there are over 25 buses a day between Split and Zadar so it is easy to get tickets. Similarly Split to Dubrovnik - I turned up with 2 friends half an hour before I wanted to travel. I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll have any problems in Dalmatia in May with buses being full.

However, if you are looking for a round trip ticket covering all your jouneys that may be different??

Thank you for that information Jude.

I believe what you say is correct.

But not having been in that part of the world before, and to be constantly reading on the many and varied Croatian Websites, how important it is to book in advance, I did not want to leave anything to chance.

Having accommodation is of no use to me, if I cannot get to it on time.

But it seems I may just have to turn up and take my chances. Thanks again for you input. Regards. Deb.

Hi debbiedoo5656, We are also from Australia Perth to be exact. We are also finding it very difficult to book. We want to go from Split to Munich in 1 1/2 days. Planned to drive but the levy the car company wanted was ridiculous. The people from the Katarina line cruise we ared doing have been helpful but hard to understand the times etc. We would prefer to go coast to Rijeka and then train to Munich. Seems we cant do that and will have get train. Our travel agent has quoted $180 for 1st class and $265 for sleeper each. A bit expensive but cheaper than flying. We want to see as much as we can. Im hoping when we arrive in May we will be able to book. The websites wont let u book online and hard to find out ticket costs. I have also emailed railways and no reply. Think I might have to ring them. Please let me know if u do find out anymore and I will lett you know too. Good Luck and have a great time

Hi. K Split to Munich by Train in 1 1/2 Days. I think not, as U will almost certainly be shunted thru. Zagreb. The Bus is your best chance. Buses leave Split daily. Split to Zadar 4 1/2 Hrs.

Zadar to Ljubljana about 7 hrs. then 4hrs+ to Salzburg %26amp; 2hrs+ by Bus or the ICE Train to Munich. Cost is an educated guess but Approx. A$65 to A$100 EA Adult. If you use a Travel Agent here in Australia, you can probably double that.++ It will be much cheaper to wait until you get there. Unless you are going in the very busy period. Have you considered Flying Zadar-- Stansted with Ryan Air Then Stansted Munich with Easyjet cost Varies greatly depending on day of week and month of year, but should be around A$55 to A$60 per adult. but timing is every thing The Ryan Air Web site is down right now so i cannot check fare -- ( This may not be an option if cannot get the timing right.) www.ryanair.com %26amp; www.easyjet.com

Try typing the following web address into your address bar ( Not your search bar)

www.akz.hr/EN/voznired.aspx but be patient, it is a very slow website, but it might be worth your while.

The first thing is to type where you are leaving from into the box, in your case you are leaving from Split, BUT, never type in the full name of where you are leaving from, or where you want to go to, if you do it will tell you there are no such places as Split or Zadar etc. Just type in the first 3 letters eg Spl then press SHOW, it will then give you a list of Cities starting with Spl, one of which amazingly will be Split click on it and wait. Then type in eg. Zar and click on Show again etc. etc., be careful, if this website gets the impression that you might be smarter than it , it will %26quot;Spit the Dummy%26quot; and you will get nothing out of it.

www.libertasdubrovnik.com/voznired.swf again in your address bar might get you a time table of sorts.

Keep smiling I%26#39;m told it%26#39;s a beautiful part of the world along the Dalmatian coast, and worth the effort.

A travel Agent?? You must be Rich. Do it yourself, on the Net, it%26#39;s half the fun %26amp; much cheaper.

Best of luck. If I can help further you can get me on
