Australia to Croatia- best route & accommodation?

Travelling with family(3 generations) from Queensland Australia, going to Debronovick. We want to go the least complicated route (for sake of chidren %26amp; grandparent.) Wondering if anyone can help re travel %26amp; suitable accommodation, preferably without steps, near to centre of city. Also, does Debronovick have any markets?

Mmmm we have chosen Debronovick after reading many forums. Hope it is the right choice!!

This will be the start of a trip around Europe, ending in Ireland.

Have had several successful o/seas trips due to in no small way to the advice from Tripadvisor members.I will value and appreciate any input.

Thanks in anticipation.

Best possible way is to fly into Vienna then plane to Dubrovnik or alternate is to go into Rome then either pick up Air Croatia or for better travel train to Ancona .... boat to Split or depending on times direct to Dubrovnik.

Thanks mausgrass- great help- will now start trying to get best airfares!

Use a search engine like kayak.com There is no best place to fly to in general, different dates means different prices. Try Frankfurt, or Zagreb might be more suitable, you could drive from there and visit Plitvice en route or fly to Dubrovnik if you want.

Thanks Jackie99. I%26#39;ve never heard of that sight, but shall certainly check it out.

See you are from London. We love London %26amp; will be travelling onto there - probably by train.

My suggestions were to fly from Oz as some Airlines like Etihad/Emirates/Quaintarse will give good earlybirds but its the arrival port which is the bugbear.

This trip, the family has decided to go to northern Italy then onto Paris, London %26amp; Ireland and make our next one just to Croatia. It became a little bit tricky with change of planes etc with the children.

However, thanks to everyone who gave advice- it was greatly appreciated.

We are all looking forward to the Croatia trip, probably early next year.

Hi WalesAus

I have just booked my daughter from Perth to Dubrovnik next September. I spent hours on the internet trying to figure out the best deal and I ended up booking her with British Airways through Singapore to London Heathrow and then from London Gatwick to Dubrovnik. Some other routes and airlines were a little cheaper but involved overnight stays etc.

The B A timetable worked perfectly from Perth.
