Question re: travel to Dubrovnik via London

Hi all,

I%26#39;m looking at flight options for Vancouver -%26gt; Dubrovnik via London. Unfortunately, there aren%26#39;t as many flights per day as I hoped. I%26#39;m thinking of flying Air Canada into Heathrow, and then taking an Air Croatia flight out. There%26#39;s about 3 hours (or just slightly under) for transfer between the flights. Does that seem like enough time for baggage, customs, security, etc? I%26#39;m a bit worried about flight delay also.

Does anyone have any experience with this route, or transit in general through Heathrow?

Thanks!

I have some experience with Heathrow /twice, route Roma-London/ and I had no problems; they checked everything, I had to take off my shoes :-), but everything was OK and I have to admit, they were very nice and very fast - great English style....

I had to fill up some kind of form.... I had to give them address and the phone number of my hotel....

bye

Croatia Airlines use terminal 2 and depending on when you go I think Air Canada will be using terminal 3. Check to see if you can get a through ticket and then you will not have to worry about your baggage as it will be checked through and you will not have to collect it until you get to Croatia. As you would be a transit passenger there should be no problems with customs and security. If you have through tickets and there are delays it is up to the issuing airline to find you alternative flights should you miss the connection (at least that is my understanding:-) )

Hi,

We have a similar itinerary. We are flying to Heathrow from DC. The return flight is my concern. Leave Dubrovnik at 6:30am to arrive LHR at 10:00 to connect for 12:00 depart for DC. Our tickets are purchased so we are going for it! I can let you know how it goes when we get back on March 12. If that helps.
