Getting from Split to Dubrovnik

Can someone please recommend me the best way to get from Split (off the ferry) to Dubrovnik?

THANK YOU

By bus- see the previous posts.

Which previous post?

Is it a long bus ride?

THANKS

I said %26quot;see the previous posts%26quot; because this question is put on this forum at least once a week .

I never did it by bus personally , but the other say it lasts 4,5 - 5,5 h and when booking choose the right side of the bus to look at the seaside, but looking left to Biokovo mountain is also good.

The long distance buses have AC.

You don%26#39;t have many options other than the bus. So enjoy the view!

The bus took 4hrs from Makarska so I believe it will take around 6.5 to 7hrs to do it all the way down the coast.

It was extremely hot and sticky though 10 days ago and I was sat at the back.

Take note that your ticket has a seat number on it though so if its where you would like to sit on the bus, get the blighters to move.

They will charge you for carriage of your luggage also if you get the same grumpy driver we did.

The fare from Makarska to DBV was 78 Kuna or £7.20apx.

All the best!

There has been talk on here in the past of hiring a driver and I am sure you could do that, but it might be considerably more expensive...maybe a bit quicker, but more spendy!

Why did the trip from Makarska take four hours to Dubrovnik? Was there road construction? Or did you have to stop in every little town to pick up people? I am surprised that you say it will take up to seven hours by bus from Split to Dubrovnik!

4 Hours from Makarska to Dubrovnik? That is unheard of under normal conditions...and you did not run into an accident along the way...or construction. When did you take that trip? I know there is alot of traffic along the Jadranska Magistrala, but that much???

Hi does anyone know what the road is like now? Have heard a new road was being built from split to dubrovnik? What to see along the way?

Last October it took 4 hours from Split to Dubrovnik on the bus. The road was fine, the bus had air-conditioning and only stopped at the border. Lovely journey - sit on the right of the bus for the best view.
