Dubrovnik to Korcula - day trip?

Is this possible or too far?

It would be very difficult to do this as a day trip, particularly in the off-season. The ferry takes about 3.5hrs to go from Dubrovnik to Korcula.

I think the ferry leaves Dubrovnik at about 9am in the off-season and arrives at 12.30pm. With the return ferry leaving Korcula at about 12.40 pm goiing back to Dubrovnik. If you are going in Summer there are more services (but it still takes quite a time to travel).

You also need to see whether the ferry goes to the port in the old town at Korcula because sometimes it docks at the port at the other end of the island and you need to get a connecting bus.

I would recommend that you at least spend a night in Korcula if you have the time. Otherwise, you might consider a day trip that is closer to Dubrovnik.

You could always rent a car for the day and get there. You would have to get to Orebic then take a ferry across to Korcula. Or you could check the bus schedule and maybe get there on the bus? Its definitely worth a trip if you can work it!

It is possible during the main season on the Nona Ana state service 9807, you should get between 4 and 5 hours there and the journey is approx 2hrs 45min at a cost of 55kn per person. Let me know if you want more details but you should not need to use the Jadrolinija ferry with its restrictive timings.

I%26#39;ve been looking at ferry schedules for the middle of May going from Korcula to Dubrovnik and I%26#39;m only finding it going 2 or 3 times a week. Is this right? Is there another way for me to get to Dubrovnik at that time of year? Does the ferry run to Orebic every day and is it easy to catch the bus to Dubrovnik from there?
