we are thinking of going to crotia in september and would like to know of some good parts to stay in because we know nothing about croatia would is it expensive or cheap to stay in would all inclusive hotels be recommended or what ever we will be grateful for any advice thank you

Croatia is not cheap but, if targeting private apartments, you may find great deals in September. I would definitely recommend Dalmatian coast, Istria but Northern Croatia - Zagreb and Zagorje are wonderful in September as well

Not knowing your definition of cheap, I would not say that Croatia is expensive. However, the farther south you go, the cheaper. Istria is filled with tourists, and that does not make prices lower. If you drive or fly further south the prices are much lower. I have been in Vodice near Sibenik 4 times now and it is great. I come from Denmark and most things in Croatia are half price. 2 bedroom-appartments start around 40 EUR pr night

Btw you must include trips to some of their national parks if you like walking.
