My friend and I are traveling to Hvar from Aug. 6-10. We are looking for a private apt. that is close to old town. (safe walk back from bars at night) I%26#39;ve been emailing many apartments I%26#39;ve found online and have yet to get any responses.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay or even how to get in contact with some of these apartment owners via email?

Annie the problem is that the first two weeks in August are the peak of the season in Croatia, and private owners do not like short stays at that time.
This is also period of highest prices, so I would reccomend to all the visitors to avoid these two weeks and to enjoy a less crowded and less expensive Croatia just a couple of weeks earler or later.
Anyway, not answering the enquires is not the right way of doing business.
Keep on trying or rearrange your itinerary. Good luck!
