cell phones

Last year in Greece we got cheap phones in the Athens airport, which made life really easy for staying in touch with each other. The coverage was great, and it was very reasonable. What is the phone situation in Croatia? Do you need a separate card for each country in the area, or can you travel throughout the former Yugoslavia on the same type of card? Any suggestions are welcome.

Yugoslavia exists no more and each country has it%26#39;s own codes and networks. You can get phones for under 40 USD with your own numbers and some amount of Kuna already included in the price. If talking to someone in a different country, roaming charges will apply.

We found it easiest to just buy prepaid cards once we were in Croatia. They were relatively cheap and they can be found in almost any convenience shop.
